A romantic relationship can bring out the best in you – but it can also be deeply challenging. That’s because our intimate partnerships often mirror the very first and most formative relationships in our lives: those with our parents or caregivers. It’s in those early bonds that we develop our attachment style and survival strategies – patterns that can later resurface in our relationships. Sometimes, we get stuck in these old dynamics, which can lead to growing frustration and distance, rather than connection. Couples coaching can help you break through these patterns and choose a new path together.

Your partner often knows exactly how to touch your most vulnerable spots. This can create deep love and connection, but it can also lead to fear and a loss of trust. When you find yourselves caught in a negative cycle, both partners tend to protect themselves — either by withdrawing or attacking — often falling into fixed, reactive roles. Beneath these survival responses lie emotions and needs that aren’t always consciously felt. Without awareness of what’s really going on underneath, it’s easy to get caught up in blame, which can place the relationship under serious strain.

This is where couples coaching comes in. As a couples coach, I create a safe space where both partners feel heard. Together, we explore what’s really going on beneath the surface: what are the underlying feelings and needs? Which patterns and behaviors are getting in the way? And how can you begin to step out of them and do things differently?

In my sessions, we usually start by strengthening your individual foundation, so you can enter the relationship from a grounded place within yourself. From there, we work on restoring connection, improving communication, and learning to feel and express your boundaries and needs in a constructive way. Methods like Transactional Analysis and Nonviolent Communication are powerful tools in this process. You’ll learn to observe what’s happening without getting swept up in it — and how to use trigger moments as opportunities for personal growth and to deepen intimacy in your relationship.

During the intake session, we’ll explore your situation and discover how I can best support you as a couple. Curious to find out what couples coaching could mean for you? I warmly invite you to book a free online orientation session.
